The Economic Development Strategic Plan (PDF) provides an assessment of the existing conditions that drive the economy in Monterey Park and is intended to help local stakeholders and decision-makers implement strategies that will contribute to the City's future economic health. The EDSP includes strategic recommendations to enhance Monterey Park's business climate and support economic growth in a manner consistent with the City's character. The Plan was created in concert with input from residents, business owners, and public officials by virtue of multiple studies, which include several community/consumer surveys, a comprehensive economic study, an urban design assessment, and a brand development report.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STRATEGIC PLAN UPDATE

The City of Monterey Park is seeking proposals from experienced, qualified consulting firms to assist in the updating of the Economic Development Strategic Plan. The new plan will set the City of Monterey Park and its culturally diverse population of over 61,000 on a sustainable path of economic prosperity as an economic force in the Southern California region economy.

The City seeks to hire an accomplished consultant firm, seasoned in producing municipal economic development strategic plans to assist Monterey Park in being future-ready with new ideas, inventive thinking, economic strategic tools and approaches, and implementable policies and action plans. Interested and qualified firms must submit their proposals no later than 5:00 pm on March 30, 2023.
