Crime Statistics

Monthly crime statistics are provided to inform citizens of general crime information. If you are interested in obtaining crime statistics for a particular location please contact the Monterey Park Police Department Records Bureau at 626-307-1211.

Beats

The Monterey Park Police Department divides the City into five different beats. An officer is assigned to patrol each beat. The beats are divided as follows:

  • Beat 1: The city limits west of Atlantic Boulevard and south of Garvey Avenue
  • Beat 2: The city limits north of Newmark Avenue
  • Beat 3: The city limits between Atlantic Boulevard and Garfield Avenue, south of Newmark Avenue
  • Beat 4: The city limits east of Garfield Avenue, south of Newmark Avenue, north of East Coral View Street and Ackley Street.
  • Beat 5: The city limits east of South Wilcox Avenue, south of East Coral View Street and Ackley Street.

All crimes are listed by the beat in which they occurred, location by 100 block, and the date and time (military hours) reported.

Citizen RIMS Data Portal

Monterey Park Police Department has launched the MPPD Citizen RIMS portal, which offers the public access to interactive crime information. The Police Department understands the significance of providing accurate and current information about our community. This initiative demonstrates our commitment to maintaining a high level of transparency through this new online portal. The Citizen Records Information Management System (RIMS) provides updated information not only about officer-initiated activities but also about incidents that impact public safety.

Through this interactive website, the public can:

  • View Crime and Police Activity. Explore recent incidents and crimes on an interactive map to see what’s happening in the city. Users can also enter a specific address to display various types of activity within their area. Different filters are available to narrow down particular crimes and activities.
  • Track Monthly Crime Statistics. Review crime statistics displayed in a simple line graph showing month-by-month activity.
  • See Current Missing Persons. Stay informed about individuals reported missing within the last 30 days.
  • Access Arrestee Information. View details on individuals arrested by the department in the past 30 days.
  • Submit Online Requests:
    • Vacation Home Checks. Request periodic patrols of your home while you are away on vacation.
    • Extra Patrols. Notify the department of concerns in your neighborhood so officers can increase patrol presence when available.
  • Register Security Cameras. Voluntarily register your home or business security cameras, enabling officers to contact you for possible footage if a crime occurs nearby. The Police Department does not have direct or remote access to any camera system. Registration simply helps officers identify that cameras may be in the area during an investigation.
