Street Sweeping

The city contracts with CMAX Commercial Maintenance to provide street sweeping services. There are 119 street miles within the City of Monterey Park, 10 miles of alleys and 17 city owned parking lots. Residential streets and alleys are swept once per week, city's boulevards four times per week, and parking lots one to two times per week. Approximately 20,576 curb miles are swept annually with thousands of cubic yards of litter and debris removed.

Schedules and Routes

The street sweeping schedule is closely coordinated with garbage collection. In most instances, street sweeping occurs the day following garbage collection. For example, when garbage collection occurs on Friday, the streets will be swept on Monday. Route maps 

Resident Duties

Residents are advised to keep the curb area in front of their residence free from obstacles and parked cars during the days of scheduled street sweeping service. Please observe the no parking signs posted in your area as the city will issue parking citations.

Holidays

On the following holidays, street sweeping will not occur and parking citations will not be issued:

• 4th of July
• Labor Day
• Columbus Day
• Veterans Day
• Thanksgiving Day
• Friday after Thanksgiving
• Christmas Eve
• Christmas Day
