Crafternoon
Thursday, May 25, 3 p.m. in the Friends Room
Get creative with the Library! Kids ages 5-12 will create snakes out of pony beads, pipe cleaners, and googly eyes. All materials will be provided and no registration is required.

COMING SOON: Find Your Voice! Summer Reading Program
June 6- July 29, 2023
Beginning June 6, children ages birth-12 can register for the Summer Reading Program. Keep track of the hours you read or listen to books over the summer to earn virtual badges and prizes including Panda Express and Raising Cane's vouchers, a free book and the opportunity to win a grand prize!
Find Your Voice! Storytime
Tuesday, June 6 at 6:30 p.m. in the Children’s Department
Kick off Summer Reading with a Find Your Voice! themed storytime and activities. Children must be accompanied by a caregiver.
LEGO Coding Lab
Fridays at 3 p.m. in the Friends Room
Registration required
Kids ages 9-13 will learn simple coding using LEGO BOOST! Beginning Friday, May 26, call or visit the Children’s Department to register for one of the following two-week sessions:
- June 9 and 16
- June 23 and 30
- July 7 and 14
- July 21 and 28
Art Zone
Wednesdays, June 7 and 21 at 3 p.m. in the Friends Room
Kids ages 5-12 will create masterpieces based on the work of famous artists, then showcase their art on the Library’s special Art Zone gallery wall. No registration is required, but materials will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.

Let Us Write
Thursdays, June 8, 15, 22 and 29 at 12 p.m. in the Friends Room
Let Us Write is a fun creative writing program that will highlight a different genre each week. Kids ages 7-12 will develop their writing skills by creating their own zines, mad libs and more! No registration is required.

Junior Maestros
Fridays, June 9, 16, 23 and 30 at 11 a.m. in the Friends Room
Listen, move and play along to music in this weekly program! Children ages 5-10 will explore basic musical concepts such as tempo, dynamics and rhythm with games and activities. No musical experience is required – all are welcome! No registration is required.

Summer Performances
All performances will take place at 3 p.m. at the Langley Senior Center located at 400 W. Emerson Ave., Monterey Park, CA 91754.
Bubblemania

Join us for a show on the science of bubbles with shimmering waves of soap films, rainbow bubbles, big bubbles, small bubbles, square bubbles, triangle bubbles, bubbles within bubbles and bubbles bouncing on bubbles!
Mad Science

Families will be treated to a spellbinding program that introduces children to the principles of air and pressure through impressive science experiments.
Environmental Nature Center

In this literacy-inspired program, kids will enjoy classic children’s books that feature animal characters, then meet the LIVE main character from each story!
