In-N-Out Cover to Cover Reading Program

Saturday, October 2- Saturday, November 13
Children ages 4 to 12 can register for the In-N-Out Cover to Cover Reading Program. Children who read five books will receive a certificate for a free burger from In-N-Out. To register, click here.

Monster Mash Halloween Event

Thursday, October 21, 4-7:00 p.m. at Barnes Park
This free family-friendly event, co-hosted by the Recreation and Community Services Department and Monterey Park Bruggemeyer Library, will feature carnival games, a costume parade, trick-or-treating, and food trucks. Entertainment will be provided by Fantastick Patrick and Arty Loon. For more information, click here.

Spanish Bilingual Storytime

Fridays, November 5 and 19, 4:00 p.m. at Barnes Park
Families are invited to join us for Spanish Bilingual Storytime at Barnes Park, where they will hear books, sing songs and learn vocabulary. Children of all ages and language abilities are welcome and no registration is required.

Music & Movement

Friday, November 12, 11:00 a.m. at Barnes Park
Join Children’s Services staff for music, movement and dancing at Barnes Park! This program is intended for children ages 0-5 and their caregivers, but children of all ages are welcome. No registration is required.

Mandarin Storytime

Friday, November 12, 3:30 p.m. at Barnes Park
Join Miss Ana for an all-ages Mandarin storytime at Barnes Park! Hear stories, sing songs and learn rhymes in Mandarin. No registration is required.

Afterschool Art in the Park

Thursday, November 18, 3:30 p.m. at the Barnes Park Picnic Shelters
Get creative with the Library at Barnes Park! Kids ages 5 - 12 will paint an autumn tree masterpiece using cotton swabs. All materials will be provided. No registration is required.

Family Storytime in the Park

Tuesdays & Saturdays at 10:00 a.m. at Barnes Park
Family Storytime is for all ages. Featured stories vary in length, some encourage active listening while others invite participation. Caregivers must attend and are expected to participate and model good listening skills for their children.
