Community members invited to explore police operations and build stronger ties with local law enforcement
On Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 8 a.m.–5 p.m., the Monterey Park Police Department will be hosting a one-day Citizens Academy where participants will be introduced to various police department bureaus and their functions and responsibilities.
The program is designed to strengthen relationships between law enforcement and the community while giving community members a firsthand look at the tools and tactics officers utilize every day.
The goal is for community members to ask questions and gain a deeper understanding of and appreciation for the challenges of policing.
Applications should be submitted by Friday, May 2, 2025. To download an application, or for more information, please visit www.montereypark.ca.gov/citizensacademy or contact the Community Engagement Bureau at 626-307-1215.
