The Monterey Park City Council is shocked and saddened to learn about more recent shootings such as those in Bowdoin, Maine; Hebron, New York; Kansas City, Missouri; and the Sweet 16 party shootings in Dadeville, Alabama.
The Council’s hearts and prayers again go out to the wounded, their family and friends, and mourns with the communities the lives lost and lives changed as the result of gun violence.
“The City Council’s deepest sympathies go out to those affected by yet another senseless act of gun violence. Our communities desperately need our lawmakers to act on gun safety reforms,” said Mayor Jose Sanchez.
