[ARCHIVED] A Feast of Poetry at Monterey Park Bruggemeyer Library

Flyer for a poetry reading and workshop with A Women’s Poetry Collective on November 10.

Aspiring poets are invited to a poetry workshop and reading of “An Illegal Feast,” the newly-released collaborative poetry collection by Addison, Flores, Goyan, King and Wong, an invitation-only women's poetry collective. The program will be held on Monday, November 10 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the Monterey Park Bruggemeyer Library Friends Room.

Poems from the collection will be read by contributing poets Consuelo G. Flores, Andrea Goyan and Monterey Park resident, Elizabeth Wong. Attendees will then be invited to create their own poems using writing prompts and simple collaborative poetry techniques developed by collective founder E. E. King. Beginners are welcome, with no poetry experience required. For more information, please contact Adult Services at the Library at 626-307-1368.

“An Illegal Feast” was published in June this year by Broadstone Books. The collection has been described as a work of “masterful talent and sumptuous creativity” that “will have you salivating over every piece … satisfied yet always craving more.” Copies can be purchased on the Broadstone Books website.

The Monterey Park Bruggemeyer Library is the City’s public library located at 318 South Ramona Avenue, Monterey Park, CA 91754. To learn more about Library events and services, please visit www.montereypark.ca.gov/library.
