Community town hall meeting scheduled for Thursday, February 27 at Highlands Elementary School
Monterey Park Police Department would like to remind residents that taking proactive steps to secure your home is essential in preventing burglaries. MPPD reminds residents to stay alert and be aware of any suspicious activity, vehicles, or individuals in their neighborhoods.
As a precaution, always lock all doors and windows, set your alarm, and consider installing video doorbells and exterior surveillance cameras. Surveillance cameras not only act as a deterrent, but also provides valuable recorded evidence. It’s important to store this footage securely, regularly monitor activity, and pay attention to real-time alerts. If your camera detects unusual movement, take it seriously—have a plan, and be prepared to call police if needed.
Ensure safes are bolted down, avoid keeping large amounts of cash at home, and store valuables securely. When away, leave lights on, inform trusted neighbors, and remain mindful of any unusual activity.
Most importantly, if you see something, say something. Together, we can help keep our community safe.
Monterey Park Police Department invites the community to an in-person Town Hall Meeting to share thoughts, voice concerns and ask any questions the public may have:
