On June 28, 2024 at approximately 12:34 a.m., Monterey Park Police Department responded to the 100 block of East Graves Avenue regarding a solo traffic collision. MPPD arrived on scene and located an overturned vehicle at Graves Ave. and Cecil St.
Officers located five individuals: two adults trapped inside the vehicle, one adult ejected onto the roof of a residence, and the driver located outside the vehicle assisting her seven-year-old daughter out of the car.
Monterey Park Fire Department responded to the location and pronounced the two adults inside the vehicle and the ejected adult as deceased.
The driver of the vehicle and her daughter were transported to LA County Hospital with minor injuries.
During Monterey Park Police Department’s investigation, it was determined the driver was impaired at the time of the collision. The driver was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI.
This collision is an active investigation conducted by the Monterey Park Police Department Traffic Bureau.
