Suspects in Kidnapping for Ransom Apprehended by Monterey Park Police Department

 

On March 12, 2026, officers with the Monterey Park Police Department apprehended four suspects in connection with a kidnapping which occurred on the 100 block of East Hellman Avenue.

At approximately 4:48 am, the Monterey Park Police Department received a call for service to check the welfare of an individual who had possibly been kidnapped. Patrol officers responded and determined that a male adult victim had been kidnapped, threatened, assaulted and held for ransom. The victim was ultimately released after a ransom was paid to the suspects. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries during the incident. Detectives have identified and apprehended four out of five adult suspects who have been booked for kidnapping, false imprisonment, criminal threats and conspiracy to commit a crime. One suspect remains outstanding.
