The public should avoid the streets in the Barnes Park area on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. due to road closures in the vicinity.
Update, 4:55 p.m.: Today's event has concluded. We'd like to thank President Biden for visiting Monterey Park, our fellow public safety partners for their assistance, and the community for their patience. All roads are now open, according to MPPD. Please proceed with caution as there may be residual traffic issues in the area.
Due to a visit by President Biden, the public should avoid the streets in the Barnes Park area on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. due to road closures on Garfield Ave., Newmark Ave., Ramona Ave., Harding Ave., McPherrin Ave., Park Ave, Huntington Ave. and Roselyn Pl.
- Please be advised that vehicles parked in the restricted areas will be towed. Please park your vehicles on an unaffected street before the barricades are set up.
- There are NO plans for a public address, assembly or viewing. The public is advised to avoid the area.
- Very limited vehicle and pedestrian traffic will be allowed, so please plan accordingly.
- Spirit Bus routes 1 and 2 will be out of service.
- City hall and the library will be closed Tuesday, March 14.
- In addition to the closures around Barnes Park, Garfield Avenue will be closed for all traffic periodically throughout the day.
- For urgent matters, please call the Police Dept. non-emergency number at 626-573-1311. In case of emergency, please dial 911.
