Nominations for the 2014 Tree Memorial Award are now being accepted by the Recreation and Community Services Department through February 2014.
The Tree Memorial Award was created to recognize individuals who have made a significant positive impact on the community. This prestigious award is reserved for an individual who has demonstrated the highest level of community involvement, and can be awarded to a person living or deceased.
Nominations will be reviewed by a committee of Community Participation and Recreation and Park Commissioners. The committee will make their recommendation to the City Council in April, and a ceremony honoring the individuals will take place in May. Plaques will be installed under designated trees as recognition of their accomplishments.
Groups or individuals who wish to nominate an individual must complete the application process. Applications are available at the city hall Recreation and Community Services Department.
