[ARCHIVED] LAMP Literacy Program Prepares to Celebrate Tutor of The Year Recognition

Once a year, the literacy program selects a tutor who has demonstrated outstanding dedication and achievement to teaching English as a Second Language and has devoted numerous hours in volunteerism to serve our literacy students. This year, the LAMP Literacy Program will be celebrating our annual Tutor of the Year Program on Saturday, December 6, in Council Chambers beginning at 11:00 a.m. with a luncheon following the ceremony at City Hall Lobby. The program will feature honored guests and dignitaries to also commemorate the literacy program’s 30 years of service to adult learners in the community and the recognition of the year’s accomplishments. Join us as we honor our elite volunteers in our community who dare to change the lives of people by empowering them with Basic English Skills in reading, writing, and communication.
