Due to the positive response, we’re excited to announce that the Taste of Downtown MPK program has been extended! Originally set to end on January 31, 2025, you now have more time to earn AND redeem your 10% rewards at all participating Downtown Monterey Park restaurants—until program funds are exhausted! This means you can continue to enjoy 10% back on every dining experience in Downtown Monterey Park while helping our local restaurants thrive.
The City of Monterey Park launched the Taste of Downtown MPK promotion to support local restaurants and encourage more foot traffic in our vibrant downtown district. This initiative, which began on November 1, 2024, offers residents and visitors a chance to earn 10% back on their purchases at participating downtown restaurants.
“We’re thrilled to offer this innovative program to our community and our valued local businesses,” said Joseph Torres, Monterey Park Economic Development Manager. “Taste of Downtown MPK is a win-win: it encourages diners to explore our vibrant downtown culinary scene and directly benefits the restaurants that make our downtown so special.”
Participating is easy:
- Download: Get the free “Open Rewards” app on your smartphone. The app is available in Chinese and Spanish and provides a handy list of all participating downtown restaurants, making it easy to find your favorite downtown spot or discover a new gem. Plus, the first 50 users will receive a $5 sign-up bonus!
- Dine: Make purchases at any participating restaurant within Downtown Monterey Park.
- Earn: Automatically earn 10% back on each purchase, up to $10 per transaction.
- Redeem: Use your earned credits at any participating downtown restaurant before the program funds are exhausted!
The Open Rewards app supports all payment methods: credit card, debit card, and cash - making the program accessible to everyone. Plus, all downtown restaurants are automatically included in the program, with no sign-up or training required.
Program Details:
- Program Name: Taste of Downtown MPK
- Earn Period: November 1, 2024 through until program funds are exhausted
- Redemption Period: November 1, 2024 through until program funds are exhausted
- Participating Area: Restaurants within Downtown Monterey Park only
- Earn Rate:10% back on each purchase (up to $10 maximum per transaction)
- Redemption: Credits can only be redeemed at participating downtown restaurants
