Community Resources and Services

The City of Monterey Park is committed to providing mental health support and healing to residents. Free and multilingual resources, including legal advice, mental health and wellness support in seven languages, and referrals to other organizations and government agencies can be found below.

Drop-In Services at the Library

Multilingual caseworkers and counselors from Chinatown Service Center are at the library on Wednesdays from 2-4 p.m. (Social services) and on the first & third Fridays of the month from 10 a.m-12 p.m. (Mental Health Services).⁣

AJSOCAL visits the library on the third Thursday of the month from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. AJSOCAL is a social justice organization serving AAPI communities, especially those that have limited English proficiency and are low-income. They provide free legal/non-legal help with discrimination, immigration and citizenship, healthcare and housing access. 

APIFM visits the library on the second Tuesday of the month from 2-4 p.m. They offer in-language CalFresh benefit education and enrollment support for LA County residents. 

Monterey Park Community Healing Fund

The Monterey Park Community Healing Fund has officially closed and has distributed all funds raised to support the Monterey Park community in the aftermath of the tragedy of January 21, 2023. No additional donations will be accepted. 

The MPCHF Advisory Committee would like to thank all the generous donors who contributed to this important cause. Every donation, no matter what size, has made a difference in providing a sense of hope and stability during this challenging time.
